i just got a cold, just in time for the weekend. Happy Friday Jo. So this is the second button shop of awesome. Called U-sew, it is about 30 paces from the first button shop. The vase below was made by the lady’s in blue, pretty cool hey. This store mostly has novelty buttons, not a lot of vintage buttons, however I did buy these heavenly button cards from here. I love the big pink buttons they so plain and pretty, im very happy with them as well as the grey and blue drops of delight.

Thank you to the 4 people who made a comment on my previous post, im really sad that more people didn’t guess ? What did i do wrong ? i was really hoping to send buttons off to somewhere exotic…. the person who guessed closest to the correct amount was Danette and it so happens she is my sister - I promise I didn’t tell her how many buttons and i triple checked with her and she lives in Canada so there is no way she could have counted them while i was sleeping at night. Well done Deej you won! Have you ever won anything in your life? The correct amount of buttons in each bag is 1000 black and 950 white - she was damn close! When i asked her how she knew, she said ” I dunno, it was obvious! ” …. i can promise you i didn’t tell her. But for those of you who did comment i would like to send you a small something too for trying, and for being a loyal buttoncandy fan. button love x x x x

Rand button factory i love you! Imagine walking into this factory if  you were me? Seeing all the rows and rows of buttons! The first time i visited i peed a little i was so excited! ha! It’s pretty awesome the factory doesn’t produce the actual buttons, they just dye white buttons to - get this - ” ANY COLOUR YOU WANT?” and they can do it all in a few hours, how amazing? The pic of the lady drinking tea in the blue overhaul is standing in front of the huge pots where they dye the buttons, it looks a little archaic, hey? Anyway the other amazing thing is you can buy 1 Kilogram of buttons for only R9! GEEEEEZ. So the bag you see me holding below is only 2Kg’s of buttons at a cost of only R18/$2.25/1.63 euros? Yes i thought that was pretty cheap too. The other thing i almost wet my pants when seeing for the first time was the over sized Singer sewing machine. i want one just like that when im big one day. WOW wonder how much it’s worth. Will post about the second Epic button shop soon.

I have been looking for these button paper serviettes for while now. Finally found them this weekend. What good looking napkins, i don’t think i would wipe my face clean with them even if i had chocolate brownie crumbs all over my face. Thank you Karen for telling me where to find them.
