Angie sent this photo to me this week, she took it on her trip to Barcelona ….. how unfair its like dangling a carrot in front of me. All i want to do is get my grubby little paws in there, but looking at this pic the buttons pants chose for me were def the best ones.

Went around the office today taking photos of peoples buttons, saw lots of fabric ones. Why are fabric buttons so awesome? ….. conclusion - they just are! PS: i made the buttons on the left, very easy to make if you have all the little bits, also turns a plain vest into an awesome looking vest with buttons on. ha.

i didn’t even know i owned these but i found them in my unsorted box today and they made me smile alot.

i found a lonely button on the way to my car this morning, shame poor lonely discarded button. Don’t worry guys Meryl is fine. Yes now that i have adopted the lonely girl, i can give her a name, Meyrl suits her don’t you think and yes she is a she. This whole experience reminded me a poem my gran taught me when you find a coin on the ground. Here goes : See a penny pick it up, all the day you will have good luck. Anyway i treated this button as a penny and it was my lucky day because i got my American visa today, a 10 year visitor visa. YEAH!!!!!!

my mom is just about flat on the floor right now to think that i even own books so two books in one weekend is pretty epic, anyway this book BADGE BUTTON PIN by Gavin Lucas is also pretty cool tonnes of different ideas for button badges ( i would love a button badge machine) but my favourite pages are in the pictures below, i think very clever.

.. but this is a pretty awesome book, im posting about another book tomor - Obvs about buttons. So stay in this weekend and read read read. This book BUTTON BUTTON by Terry Taylor is awesome and filled with so many original projects involved with buttons. Have a rad saturday.

wow there is someone else out there like me, meet Dalton Stevens The Button King Apparently Dalton couldn’t sleep at night so he started sewing buttons onto a denim suit. 16,333 buttons later he had an awesome buttons suit, he has also covered two cars in buttons wow ! and you think my hello piece of art is alot of buttons. Anyway i’d like to be remembered like this one day. Thank you Dalton for allowing me to use the photographs from your website. PS: i think i should start covering my coffin now.

so i went to fetch a parcel that was waiting for me yesterday from Hui Ling who lives in Singapore. It felt as if it was my birthday, i was so spoilt. Seriously Hui thank you so much. I spent the whole afternoon taking pictures of all the goodies, i love every single piece that was sent. From the jewelry to the prints, right down to the my favourite of the lot the printed shanks. I particularly like the black buttons with the gold prints on them - haven’t seen any of those here in SA and so those were really exciting to see. Thank you, thank you i love them all. x x x x can’t wait to send your package i am half way done.
