Found these in New York the first time i went, over a year ago. Florals and a bad prints my favourite, except they have holes, they not like the normal shanks i love so much, but they are maybe even a bit better. Awesome addition to my badly printed shank collection. im in love with the hearts. Have a good weekend see you monday.

Oh Michael’s

June 7th, 2010

I bought these buttons from Michael’s only the best craft store i can probably say in the World. We don’t have anything like it in South Africa, and i mean nothing! It has everything from wedding stuff to kids crafting stuff i can spend hours in their. Im always mesmerised by everything in there even the scrap booking stuff makes me want to start scrap booking. Anyway loved these little buttons and had to buy them.  Thanks to my sis for the awesome gingham ribbon, she found it in a Thrift store, even the thrift stores are better in NY and Canada. I hate overseas for having better stuff than us.

I have had such a lovely morning, i got to wake up at my own pace (which is necessary if you want to talk to me in the first half of the day) then had marmalade toast for breakfast, tended to my pot-plants, which seem to be doing okay since i was away for two weeks, and then finally sat down to read my new books which i am so damn excited about. Keeping Chickens and Canning & Preserving it’s part of a series called Homemade living. All i know is that one day i want to be like Ashley English. I want to live in a beautiful little Farmhouse where my ducks and chickens come say hello to me every morning (even though i steal their eggs for my consumption) Make preserves for the winter, knit, sew and count buttons till my heart is content. I know this has nothing to do with buttons but thinking about having my own homestead one day makes me just as happy as counting buttons. Anyway i just thought that i should share that with you……. These amazing buttons have nothing to do with farm living but are from my sister, who i love more than buttons and a vegetable garden put together. I was lucky enough to see her while i was in New york. She really does know me so well. i love all of them and the button fabric which i think will make a cute little teddy. Thank you Feej i love you.

May 20th, 2010

This will be the last automated post i should be back on the 23 May so see you then, hang in there, much button love, post you soon. Love how both of these are so scuffed,  the flower must have been on the most dainty pretty blue blouse and the gold button on the most perfect cream coloured coat. …. we can only imagine.
